On a social networking site I’ve been getting more involved with called OWN IT, I started a poll to ask business owner members how often they checked their website visitation statistics.
Hopefully, more people will respond so that I’ll have a more conclusive poll result to feature at a later date. But, the initial results showed me something very interesting: 61% of this group of business owners check their visitation statistics at least weekly, and even on a daily basis!
That is actually very encouraging because most everyone I talk to has no idea where to even look at their visitor numbers, let alone spend the time to monitor those visitation statistics.
But, it means something else too…
If you are getting beat by your competition, there’s a good chance your competitors have an active traffic building program and they’re watching their visitation numbers very closely.
Hopefully, these poll results will inspire you to check your visitation statistics more often. If you’re not getting the leads and sales you’ve been expecting from the Internet, through your website, stop beating yourself up over it. You probably just need a lot more website visitor traffic to get the conversions from visitor to lead or from visitor to customer than you originally thought you would need.
